Tavian is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba where he graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a bachelor’s degree in Physical and health education to pursue a career in teaching. After graduation he decided to change his career path to focus on rehabilitation, wellness and healing. In 2021, Tavian moved to BC to become an RMT, and in late 2022 graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy.

As a former University football player, Tavian has the unique experience and perspective on injuries and the physical and mental impact they may have. He approaches each session with care and understanding, designing a personalized treatment plan to meet your specific needs and help you feel your best.

In his free time, Tavian enjoys watching football and hockey. He coached football for 8 years and likes to stay active with exercise, long walks, visiting breweries, trying new restaurants, and exploring this new province he now calls home.

Henry Mok graduated from the Physical Therapy program at the University of British Columbia in 2021. Prior to this, he completed a degree in Biomedical Physiology at Simon Fraser University in 2016. Henry has completed his CPA Orthopaedic Division Level 1 and has over 8+ years of combined volunteer and work experience as a Kinesiologist helping a wide variety of clients in an orthopaedic setting. He is extremely passionate about the conceptual framework underlying neuromuscular motor control and believes that one of the major keys to success for optimal recovery is when care is delivered through effective communication, empowerment through education, and to directly involve the client as the most integral piece of the puzzle when it comes to treatment planning. As a Physical Therapist, he encourages clients to ask questions and strives to supplement his soft tissue techniques, manual therapy, and exercises through the use of simple, easy-to-understand educational diagrams and concepts to help each client achieve their goals. Outside of work, Henry not only enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and running but is also an active fitness enthusiast, leveraging the theories learned throughout his academic career to construct dynamic workout programs and corrective exercises. Hershal received his Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) degree from the University of British Columbia in 2015 and joined our team shortly after. Prior to that, he completed his Bachelor of Science “with distinction” from Simon Fraser University, with a major in Biomedical Physiology. Hershal has continued his education since then, becoming certified in acupuncture (CAFCI) by Acupuncture Canada in 2016, Chan Gunn IMS (CGIMS) at UBC in 2021. He also successfully completed his advanced examination in the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) program (formerly called Advanced Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Therapy) through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Currently he has taken on a teaching role in the Physical Therapy program at the University of British Columbia as a Clinical Instructor.

Hershal is skilled in treating acute and chronic pain of the low back, mid back, and neck. Drawing from his own sports injuries, he also has extensive experience treating lower leg conditions involving the knee, ankle, and foot. Hershal utilizes IMS, acupuncture, manual therapy and exercise to restore joint mobility, tissue health and ensure proper movement to prevent re-injury.

Hershal has a keen interest in sports injuries, specifically in basketball, baseball, martial arts and combat sports. Hershal continues to broaden his scope of practice and plans to pursue certification in concussion management and vestibular rehabilitation. Outside of the clinic, Hershal enjoys weightlifting, running, practicing martial arts and spending time with his family and friends.

Amanda graduated from UFV in 2020 and received her Bachelor’s of Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. She is currently a registered Kinesiologist with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). Amanda discovered her passion for sport and outdoor activities at a young age. She was a member of the Maple Ridge Figure Skating Club for 10 years and competed both as a solo skater and with the synchronized skating team. As a competitive skater Amanda dealt with a number of injuries which lead her to become interested the science behind human movement and how exercise can work to rehabilitate various injuries. Amanda looks forward to creating personalized and effective programs for her clients to help them reach their goals and live better!

After spending three years pursuing a Criminology degree at SFU, Eric decided that a career in massage therapy would be more rewarding. He graduated in 1997 from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and has been working at Maple Ridge Physiotherapy & Pain Clinic since 2004. Eric enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions, using techniques including traditional Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and deep tissue massage. Working with a variety of populations has given Luke the experience and confidence in treating injuries of all types. He believes that preventative maintenance and treating the root cause of injury are critical to optimal health, and believes that directly involving the patient in treatment planning promotes patient confidence and excellent outcomes for recovery. Luke is fortunate to have had experience in a variety of rehabilitative settings including orthopaedic and neurological private practice, orthopaedic and neurological trauma rehab, and acute care hospital. With a keen interest in orthopaedics, Luke continues to expand his skills and trains in Movement Dysfunction and possesses dry needling certification. Gordon discovered his love for health & fitness in gr. 10 P.E. class and has pursued this passion ever since. After completing his Bachelor of Human Kinetics at UBC in 2010, he served for 2 years in the Singapore Armed Forces as a Lieutenant. During his time there, Gordon was responsible for the physical fitness and combat readiness of his platoon which inspired him to attain his qualification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) upon returning to Vancouver. He completed his Masters of Physical Therapy (MPT) from UBC in 2016, and has continued to broaden and refine his orthopaedic manual therapy skills and clinical reasoning, and has achieved the status as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). Gordon also completed the Mulligan Concept Lower Quadrant course, is K-Taping (Kinesiotape) Pro certified, certified in acupuncture (ACC) by Acupuncture Canada, and also certified to perform Chan Gunn IMS (CGIMS). Edwin Chock received his Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto in 2003. Since graduation, he has taken a keen interest in the specialty of orthopedics and acupuncture, and continues to participate in numerous postgraduate courses in manual therapy. His specific interests include treatment of dysfunction of the spine and its co-related problems, shoulder injuries, sports injuries, anatomical acupuncture, and geriatric rehabilitation. Prior to joining the dynamic team at Maple Ridge Physiotherapy and Pain Clinic, Edwin has worked in clinics both in Vancouver and Toronto, treating patients involved in motor vehicle accidents, workplace-related injuries, sports injuries, and geriatric care. He also possesses experience in athletic therapy from volunteering with the Women’s Varsity Soccer and Men’s Varsity Football at the University of Ottawa, and is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopedics and Sport Divisions.
